POINTS OF INTEREST
RM1033 has always carried a body in the range that was used to replace Trolleybuses in the final two stages of the conversion programme, in January and May 1962. For her to end up with a body numerically only three out from the original, and also one that entered service on the same day and at the same garage , is very unusual.
Despite being new to North West London, and apart from her first allocation and a brief period between December 1969 and April 1970, RM1033 has always worked in South London - being at Stockwell on three separate occasions, and either at Stockwell, New Cross or Camberwell for more than 25 years!
Altogether she spent 43 years in active London service, and has subsequently spent 8 years in preservation.
